Hey guys,
My name is Joey Tillis and I drive a 2001 Subaru Impreza 2.5RS. I only just started doing Autocross this season, but, with the help of CMS, I have managed to be competitive at every event I've attended so far.
I'm just gonna jump right into the fun stuff.
The Car
Engine:
Rebuilt EJ205STI oil pump
ARP head studs
ACL Race Bearings
VF39
Big TMIC
AEM ECU
Soon to be tuned by Circuit Motorsports
Suspension:
BC Coilovers
Cobb Adjustable rear sway bar
Solid endlinks
Front Strut Bar
Rear Strut Bar
Footwork:
SSR Type-C RS 17x7.5
225/45/17 Federal RS-R
Brakemotive Sport brake pads/rotors
Early in the season I still had my stock EJ25 2.5l n/a motor. I quickly learned that it was far too slow for the handling capabilities of the car. I still managed to come first place in Novice class, which moved me into the 'Street Touring Compact' class which, on average, only had 0-1 person in that class at local events.
So I opted for more power and went for the Street Modified class. In this class I would be facing many heavily modified EVOs, STi's, mazdas, etc. The competition is tough, but I really enjoy the challenge.
I'll be posting here regularly throughout the rest of the season giving recaps and highlights of each event.
Thank you to Circuit Motorsports for bringing me into the team, I looking forward to blogging with you all!
